Dr. Kyra Hartog
DVM, Medical Director, Fear Free Certified
Dr. Kyra Hartog is from Oviedo, FL. Growing up in a medical family, she always had a interest in human and animal health. Her love of the environment and animals, especially aquatic animals and wildlife, inspired her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. She graduated from the University of Miami in 2014 with a degree in Marine Science and Biology. She then graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. She completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at BluePearl Tampa Bay in 2019. Dr. Hartog started working at Haines Road Animal Hospital as a relief doctor in 2019 and loved the team so much that she decided to come on full time in 2020! She enjoys caring for pets and helping their families understand complex diagnoses and treatment options so they can make the most informed decisions for their family. She also enjoys training and leading in the veterinary team to keep Haines Road Animal Hospital up to date on best evidence-based practices in veterinary medicine. Dr. Hartog lives in St. Pete with her partner Austin, their two dogs, Myrtle and Ophelia, and their cat Binx. In her spare time, she enjoys paddle boarding, cycling, playing guitar, and going to music festivals.
