The Benefits of Boarding Your Pet During the Holidays

The holidays bring seasonal cheer fiiled with travel, hosting guests, and festive holiday parties. Life become's very hectic during the holiday's and taking care of your dog or cat can make things more complicated. Pet boarding helps you relax during the holiday season, knowing your pet is safe and sound with professionals!

What are the benefits of pet boarding during the holidays?

1. While traveling with your dog or cat can be fun, let’s face it, it’s not always feasible. Erratic schedules and allergic family members can add stress for everyone, not to mention the difficulty of flights or long road trips. That’s where boarding is helpful. Instead of worrying about potty breaks on long road trips or your allergic brother-in-law, you'll drop off your dog and know he is going to be fed, watered, and walked on a regular routine - with plenty of cuddles!

2. Then there’s the matter of houseguests who may not be sensitive to the rules of your home - which means doors or gates may be left open and dogs can escape. These same guests may also leave suitcases or purses within reach of your dog which means your dog might eat someone else’s medication, sugarless gum - which often has the ingredient xylitol, highly dangerous to dogs – or who knows what else? It is extremely difficult to remain watchful of your pet when the house is full of bustling activities. Avoid making a trip to the Emergency this season by leaving your pet in the care of a boarding staff that is 100% attentive to your pet's movements and diet.

3. During this busy time of year, it’s not uncommon to disrupt your routine…and thus, your dog’s. But dogs LOVE routine. It helps keep them calm because they know what to expect. If you usually walk your dog at the same time each day, it can be difficult to maintain this routine during this time of year between social commitments and the added errands. When your dog is boarded with professionals, their feeding schedule, potty breaks and walk routine are all maintained on reguarly scheduled basis. If you know you wont make it home until very late in the evening, perhaps knowing your dog is maintaining their routine will give you some peace of mind!
